Catching the Wave Early

I was a Software developer at the biggest software name in 2008. I always used to wonder whether it was too late to enter this industry or company as all the innovation seem to have happened before I entered. But here is the the thing about innovation. They keep happening! You just have to look around and it's never too late to find a new idea. I retrospect the successful ideas seem to be so simple and obvious and yet we are not able to find them necessarily until one day somebody finally tells us 'here it is.. Go use it'. It fascinates me to think that twitter code was written in 7 days from scratch. Now I know that not all ideas are so simple to execute but the key is that even the most complex of the ideas can be divided into simpler execution steps and could be made to work.

I had come across the other successful blogs in 2008 itself and I used to think blogging is too crowded and it's too late to start blogging now. Guess 5 years later I'm finally starting to blog regularly and those who started 5 years earlier have already gone places. Of course I wish I could have started 5 years ago itself but then I might not have been this experienced to be able to share my perspectives or methods about things, technology, finance and life. So I think it can be good or bad. But it is only going to be what I make of it from now on. It's not about the past but always about the present and the future.

Now I have entered the finance industry where again it would seem that all the innovation that had to happen has already happened in the past and rather people are living the consequences of what they did. And yet in this era I think there is place for people like me who want to simplify finance for the masses and make things simple again. So again it may be too late for some people here, but it may be the time of opportunity for others. I'm sure when the big picture pans out it is going to look like it was the obvious path to go.

I know a whole bunch of people who are trying to associate with technology sector now. Is it too late? Does reversion to mean work? I'm a believer that there is definitely corrections in the market time to time but there is definite tendency for good things to continue to do better and bad things to not correct for elongated periods of time. Past 20 years have been the best for technology but definitely isn't over. It's only the beginning of a long change it is to bring!
